Organ Experience Day with Nathan Laube

Nathan Laube holds a place among the world’s elite performers and pedagogues. He is Associate Professor of Organ on the faculty of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York, and International Consultant in Organ Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the United Kingdom. His extensive international recital career takes him continually to major concert venues and festivals around the world.

Director of Music, Stephen Moore and Assistant Director of Music, Aaron Shilson present a short demonstration of the colours of our magnificent Nicholson & Co. instrument.

12.30pm-1.30pm

Take the opportunity to visit the console and have a chance to go inside the organ case so see pipes as large as 32ft for yourself.

Following the Demonstration go with our Directors of Music into the organ for 15 minutes in small groups of 8.

2pm - 4.30pm

Watch as one of the worlds foremost organists and pedagogue leads an masterclass with 4 young organists at the beginning of their careers.

With students representing Winchester College, Pembroke College Cambridge and the Royal Academy  of Music.

6.30pm - 7.15pm

Free pre-performance talk with Head Voicer of Nicholson’s and co, James Atherton.

 As head voicer he has particular responsibility for the manufacture, scaling and voicing of Nicholson & Co.’s pipework.

Nathan Laube Recital

To end our day of our organ experience day,  internationally renowned organist and pedagogue Professor Nathan Laube will play a thrilling evening recital. Nathan's performance as part of Celebrate 10! will be his Welsh debut.
